When I decided to become a writer, I had no idea of the difficulties that lay ahead. I have over come most of them and learned a lot of new skills along the way like cover design, typesetting, editing and so on but the one thing I haven't the hang of is the marketing aspect and for one simple reason. Marketing is just plain boring and even reading a book on the subject makes me want to vomit. I know it is a very important aspect of being and indie author but when the subject matter is so tedious it just makes you want to give up. It's easy to market music because you can listen to it, you can market videos because you can see it, but when it comes to a book all you have are pages and blocks of words and a fancy cover nothing more and trying to market something that is silent and just there as a thumbnail image is next to impossible, but perseverance is my middle name and I will continue on this journey and just keep hoping one day I will get the lucky break, and that's what it comes down to is sheer luck just having the right story in the right place at the right time and someday those factors will intersect for me but until then I'm going to continue writing and hope my luck will change.
