What a busy few weeks I've had, I've barely had time to catch my breath between writing and podcasting. Well I thought it was time for a quick post just to update you on the release date for the last Awesome Four book which is coming along very well and with all going to plan should be ready for editing and publication within the next three weeks, and as for the podcast I am having so much fun recording them it's unreal, you can listen to it here on the site or here at Evil Fm I grew up on...

I haven't been this busy in a long time. Been busy recording and editing my first podcast for lovers of rock and metal called Evil Fm, it all went great until I realized half way through that my mic wasn't turned up enough and my voice sounds very low by the time i was finished editing it was too late to do anything about it so I have to grin and bear it but it's a lesson learned. Over all it sounds great and at the end of the day its about the music and not what my voice sounds like :-) but...

Its been a busy week, between writing and purchasing the equipment to start my new podcast and start producing audio books but the only set back is waiting for the stuff to be delivered as it is coming from over seas with a postal service that is excruciatingly slow, but apart from that its all systems go. When you research pod casting on the internet, you would be amazed at some of the prices the equipment costs it can range from a few hundred Dollars to over a thousand which is ridiculous....

For such a long time I have struggled with my mindset, focusing on too many things at the same time and having the impish voice of self doubt constantly echoing through my mind. It is only as recently as two days ago that it clicked with me. The reason I have been struggling with my projects is that lack of belief in my abilities to perform as a writer because that voice of self doubt just wouldn't shut the hell up, you know what I mean that annoying little shit that puts you down, when you say...

Nobody can tell a story like my idol, Stephen King. He is a true master of the craft and the way he tells a story once you start reading you just can't put it down. I have been a huge fan of Stephen's for more than Thirty years now, quite a long time, but I was only Ten years old when I first heard of Stephen King thanks to a certain movie called 'Salem's Lot, and once I read the actual novel I was hooked and I have been a loyal follower ever since. The way he weaves the tale is amazing, just...

Over the next few weeks I will be starting a marketing campaign for The Devil and the Awesome four volumes one and two as a build up to the release of the third and final book in October. I used to hate marketing even the mere mention of the word used to send shivers down my spine like a Stephen King novel. Well, I've come to realize, that unless you start putting your name out there how can you get people to buy your book? You can't just wait around hoping to be discovered either on Facebook,...

I don't take my writing too seriously. When I say seriously I mean there's a lot of dark humor thrown in and I think that's due in part to my love of the B-movie genre. Bruce Campbell in the Evil dead trilogy had a lot to do with that, one minute your scared the next your laughing, and there's a lot of that kind of style in my books, you can't have the intensity meter turned up to ten all the time because it would be too much for readers to handle and believe me I can be quite graphic when I...

Interview with Author Patrick M Cunningham When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer? Ans. -> I never realised I wanted to be a writer until I saw a movie called ‘Salem’s Lot when I was just eight years old and it got me hooked on the horror genre and the writing of Stephen King. I used to read a lot as a kid and Stephen’s books were an inspiration, but along with that I was also reading Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigator books which were a lot of fun to read. It...

Finally after months of frustration and writers block, I have settled on the title for the final set of adventures for the Awesome four. I returned to my old way of writing which is to come up with at least 20 to 40 titles and just pick 15 to work with. Some people write their stories first then give them a title but I prefer to come up with a title and build my story around that. I just wish I could have done it sooner but battling with depression left me drained both emotionally and...
